User Guide

This article will show you how to use Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder.  Follow the steps and you'll see it’s pretty easy.

Part 1: How to install Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder

Once you’ve downloaded the setup program and double clicked to install, simply:

1). Accept the license agreement.

2). Select the drive folder where you want to install the program.

3). Click the install button.

Part 2: How to record streaming audio

Click on Record button if it's the right one for you. There will be audio spectrum graph on the top right showing there is music being playing:

Before Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder can record sound you must:

1). Be connected to the internet

2). Have a web browser open

3). Access an audio / video stream

Once you have found the stream you want, hit the record button without leaving the page, using the Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder remote control widget, hiding on the right side of your screen. Once you hit record, Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder is on standby and will automatically begin recording as soon as you press play in the browser.

While recording, don’t worry about leaving the stream page.  This will not affect your recording in any way.  Free to open and surf on other tabs or windows, or even open a new browser.

When you are done recording, find your Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder remote control widget hiding on the right side of your screen.  You’ll see that the record button has become a stop button, click it and a message will appear at the bottom right of your screen, confirming a successful recording.  To view and test your newly recorded track, open the Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder main tray (that window that opened when you started the program).

Part 3: Adding to your iTunes Library and making ringtones.

To add a track to your iTunes Library, simply right click the track.  Right clicking will also allow you to select all tracks on the current playlist, add to a new playlist, delete tracks or open the track’s containing folder.

To create a ringtone, simply click on the bell icon next to the artist name in the playlist.  Clicking here will open a bitmap of the track from which you can select and trim sections of the track to use as a ringtone, or to save just because it’s your favorite part.

Part 4: Streaming Audio Recorder Settings

Find the settings menu in the top right corner of the Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder main tray, next to the minimize/maximize buttons and above the volume control bar (It looks like a little gear).  Click on it and a window will appear giving you three menu items:

1). General: Here you can specify the destination folder for all recorded files

2). Control: Here you can help ensure your recording skips long pauses by adjusting the automatic split setting to the duration of silence acceptable to you, and skip advertisements by adjusting the filter to automatically dump any track that’s too short.

3). Format: Here you can switch between MP3 and M4A output formats and adjust the sample and bit rates.
